  • Cycle Stand, Puneet- 94batch (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
in our time there were far more cycles. only a select few came by bikes and scooters. It was a nice place, but only partly shaded. Strings of barbed wire surrounded it and often we found our cycles fallen and handles twisted (that was quite common in old cycles. and the only way to set it right was to hold the front tyre within your legs and twist the handle the other side). On second thoughts... it might have been a bit risky for short guys ;-)

Physics Lab! yes. with 4 students forming groups. One of us used to take the reading, one(the brighter one)would do the experiment and the others would go around chatting. what did we talked about for so long.... i fail to remember or... to understand.
  • Colvin College Canteen, Puneet- 94batch (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
What a canteen!! Surrounded by trees with big stone benches in between to sit and have the wares that are dished out. Many a times we have had hot samosas, and aloo rolls there. Money was hard to come by then, but what we had went into the pockets of the canteen walas. And we surely were not worriying about the money (as long as we had our samosas hot and tasty).

The best location and infrasturcture that can be for a college! Apart from a select few none even come close. It is more on the lines of a historical institution. Words fail! you just have to be there to see the grandiosity and magnificance. Once among the best of colleges, with academic brilliance the norm, it has now-a-days unfortunately fallen!. Disgraced by politicians and the like... it is struggling to keep up. If it fails then we would have lost an institution which was and still could be among the premier ones in the country. Nostalgia awakens whenever I hear its name & I feel proud of my days there. Thorough with each corner... having spend 12 wonderful years there. I am saddened by the state to which it has come to. And hope that it will regain its glory and become once more the formost beacons of learning like it once used to be.
